Bunch of liars

So, I work in this massive warehouse, right? Think towering shelves packed with everything you can imagine, from garden gnomes to industrial-sized rolls of bubble wrap. It’s pretty cool, actually, except for this one thing. Lately, I’ve gotten this nagging feeling that some of my coworkers are talking about me behind my back.

See, I’m pretty new. I’ve only been there a few months, and everyone else seems to have known each other for ages. They have this kind of inside-joke shorthand that I haven’t quite cracked yet. I try to be friendly, you know? I offer to help with heavy lifting, I bring in donuts on Fridays, and I even do things to please them. But still, there’s this… wall.

The other day, I was walking past the break room, and I heard a burst of laughter right as I approached. When I walked in, the conversation just… died. Everyone suddenly got really busy with their phones or their lunches. It felt weird, like they’d been talking about me and then abruptly stopped.

Another time, I overheard snippets of conversation near my locker. Something about “slow” and “not pulling her weight.” My heart kind of sank. I’m trying my best! I know the warehouse work is new to me, but I’m learning fast, and I’m always willing to go the extra mile.

It’s really starting to bother me. I find myself overthinking every interaction, analyzing every glance. Am I being too quiet? Too enthusiastic? Did I accidentally put someone’s lunch in the wrong fridge? It’s driving me nuts!

I don’t know what to do. Should I confront them? Should I just ignore it and hope it goes away? Maybe I should try to become friends with them outside of work? Or should I just focus on my job and not worry about what people say? It’s just so distracting! I’d love to just enjoy my job and feel like I’m part of the team, but this whole situation is making it really tough. Ugh, it’s a real pickle, isn’t it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
